Netflix's new show 'Indian Matchmaking' is a hugely popular, yet highly controversial show, featuring Mumbai-based matchmaker Seema Taparia. Popularly called Seema 'aunty', the matchmaker switches between singles in the US and India to find them suitable partners for marriage. The 8-episode series offers glimpses into how life and marriage is conducted among the rich and privileged Indians and NRIs. In these circles, where family reputation closely aligns with the bride and groom’s social status, the onus of adjusting and compromising for a “happily married life” falls largely on the women. Considering its humongous success, and demands for a second season, we ask you what you think about the show.
